Teaching and Learning Scholarship Academy: Grading Differently

Have you been thinking about how you grade? Have you ever wondered if there might be different ways to think about classroom grading?

Join us for three sessions to discuss and implement a new way to approach grading. If accepted into the TLS Academy, participation is required at all 3 summer sessions: May 27, June 3, and June 17. Each session is scheduled to run from 9:30—12:30 (Zoom).

In addition, we will offer optional check-ins throughout the summer as well as monthly check-ins with the group throughout the 2021-22 academic year.

You are welcome to apply with a team member if you are teaching different sections of the same course or teaching the same course in different semesters. Participants will receive a small grant fund ($200).

If you are a full-time faculty member and you agree to implement a new way of grading/ungrading in at least one of your courses in the upcoming academic year, please submit this form.

Participants will receive a copy of Susan Blum’s (2020) Ungrading: Why Rating Students Undermines Learning (and What to do instead)
